SOME WEIRD SHIT
A rant on the TV and media’s portrayel of beauty.

I just need to talk about something that has been on my mind.

I really despise the media lately. And I’m not sure if it’s because I don’t “fit” the ideal picture of most of the women I see on TV, or if it’s because I can actually call out the bullshit propaganda the media likes to throw in America’s face and actually deem it acceptable.

I was flipping through the channels, and happened to stop on a show called “Millionaire Matchmaker” or whatever the name of that show is. Basically, a woman named Patty has clients that are rich and single, and she matches them with singles to go on dates and look for “true love.” Now, this would be a good concept except that this lady is a total bitch with no value for human uniqueness at all.

For instance, she had a male client, who was probably around 28 to 30 years old, who was very introverted, and very dedicated to his career and passions (which happen to involve computer gaming, computer editing, puppets, just a lot of arts and crafts types of things). He had a scruffy beard, some cute black glasses, and liked to wear casual clothes (like zip up hoodies, beanies, jeans).

Patty immediately started cracking jokes on this man, making fun of his appearance and his hobbies, saying he basically needed a complete makeover, otherwise he is a lost cause.

This really shocked me, and I don’t know if it’s because I don’t have that type of bullshit mindset, where I find the need to judge people based on the media’s portrayal of what is attractive. But I was genuinely offended by the way she was talking about this man.

Who is she to say he is un-dateable? People are supposed to be unique and have their own interests and hobbies. That’s what makes this world beautiful.

Why should this man conform to society and to your stupid ideals on beauty? He was a sweetheart, and he was cute and fine just the way he was. And here she is, making him feel like he is single because of who he is.

Be who you fucking are! Otherwise, you’re going to end up with someone who you cannot stand at all. If you don’t act like yourself, you’ll attract people you don’t like.

Plus, if everyone were the same bland, boring, fake haired, fake teethed, fake boobed, fake tanned, bleach blond haired, zombie, personality-less assholes, I think this world would really suck.
